Desktop Support Technician (HR-1009)

Based at: Safe Host SA, Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland
Purpose
This position assists Desktop Support customers with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Assists Desktop Support (SafeOffice) customers with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
2. Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
3. Works with Safe Host Servers and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
4. Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
5. Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
6. Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software.
7. Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
8. Works with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
9. Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
10. Orders computer supplies.
Required Skills
1. 2+ years Desktop Support Experience
2. Fluent French/English spoken and written
3. Experience troubleshooting HW and SW issues
4. Experience with PC Setup, Repair, Imaging, and Peripheral (Printers, Scanners etc) Support
5. Excellent Customer Service Skills
6. Any Certification is a plus

Senior Systems Engineer (HR-1010)
Purpose:
The Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of systems mainly Windows-based servers including applications for Safe Host and its customers. The job activities will involve consulting work with customers as well as designing, implementing, operating and maintaining the CA Arcserve backup solution.
Problem analysis, issue resolution, root cause analysis, performance and capacity management, system performance tuning as well as the use of system analysis and monitoring tools are part of the job responsibilities. The Engineer should also possess an expert knowledge of Windows-based application administration, server security and maintenance, LDAP and Active Directory services.
Mandatory Skills/Experience
• Engineering degree from HES or equivalent
• Candidates must have a minimum 5-10 years of technical server administrator experience
• Practical server support experience within a large-scale, complex environment
• Expert knowledge and experience of Microsoft Business Applications such Active Directory, Exchange, MS-SQL, Sharepoint, CRM
• Expert knowledge and experience of IP services within a Windows environment such as DHCP, DNS, WINS
• Expert knowledge and experience of Linux and Internet services such as LDAP, HTTP
• Expert knowledge and experience of Backup procedures and operations (CA ARCserve preferred)
• Expert knowledge and experience of enterprise level backup solutions (preferable CA ARCserve)
• Microsoft certifications expected
• Strong organizational, time management, oral and written communication skills are required
Desired Skills/Experience
• Experience and knowledge of Networking system including load-balancing systems (Cisco and Microsoft preferred)
• Experience and operational knowledge of SAN architecture and systems (HP preferred)
• Experience and operational knowledge of database server clustering
• Linux and Windows/Linux integration experience
• Enhance server and end user security through automated and procedural best practices. Conduct server security threat assessments and recommend / implement required modifications
• Experience building scalable, thoroughly-monitored, stable IT server and application solutions
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills interacting with support staff, third party partners, customers, engineers.
